We are happy to announce that as of 2014 (ACAL 45), proceedings of papers from the Annual Conference on African Linguistics will be published by Language Sciences Press, an open access publisher.
Proceedings from ACAL 46 at the University of Oregon (Doris L. Payne, Sara Pacchiarotti, Mokaya Bosire, eds.) have been finished and are posted as Diversity in African Languages: Selected Papers from the 45th Annual Conference on African Languages.
Selected papers from the 2014 conference at the University of Kansas are being edited by Ibrahima Ba, Jason Kandybowicz, Travis Major, Harold Torrence and Mfon Udoinyang.
Jason Kandybowicz and Harold Torrence are also editing Africa’s Endangered Languages: Documentary and Theoretical Approaches, a volume to appear with Oxford University Press. This book groups selected papers from the Africa’s Endangered Languages workshop held as part of ACAL45, and sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
From 1994 (ACAL 35) to 2013 (ACAL 44), Selected Proceedings of the Annual Conference on African Linguistics were published by Cascadilla Proceedings Project.
A separate volume from the ACAL 44 conference (held in conjunction with the Georgetown University Round Table on Languages and Linguistics) with a focused theme is in press:
Zsiga, Elizabeth, One Boyer and Ruth Kramer, eds. In press. Languages in Africa: Multilingualism, Language Policy, and Education. Georgetown University Press.
See the Past Conferences page for more information on prior ACAL publications.
